Description
The lunar eclipse of 16 June 2011, as seen from Western Australia. A volcanic ash cloud hangs over Perth, disrupting flights, and turning the eclipsed moon redder than usual.
This was taken with just my camera, because I didn't want to fiddle with my telescope at 3.30am in the middle of winter. I've never managed to take a photo with it before, and I wasn't sure it would work anyway. Although now that I'm wide awake, it occurs to me that a lunar eclipse would have been a perfect opportunity to use my telescope T_T
EDIT: Bumped up the exposure a bit because people tend to find my photos a little dark.
